The Iron Kettle dining hall/kitchen was the first building in Canyon we built from the ground up. We started big at 22,000 sq. ft! The Iron Kettle has a fun Western Town façade inside. The design was taken from old pictures of Antelope before much of the town burned in the 1920’s.
Capacity: 600 seated
The Iron Kettle can seat 600 when the full dining hall is in use. Moveable walls allow sections to be cordoned off for private use, creating three separate dining rooms with flexible capacity. The east end is the Eureka room. The central dining space contains a stage and full sound system, as well as coffee bars and easy kitchen access.
In addition to tables and chairs, highchairs are available for small children. The Iron Kettle kitchen prides itself in efficient food service for groups of any size and its ability to accommodate any dietary needs.

Groups are responsible for supplying work crew personnel. Each group is asked to bring one work crew for every ten campers. Your work crew is free of charge and is responsible for working in the kitchen, dining room, dish pits and other areas of camp as needed. Be sure to recruit adults who can supervise or serve as point people for the work crew.
Each group is asked to bring an Oregon certified medical provider (nurse, paramedic, doctor) that can provide care sufficient for the size of your group. Your group size will determine the number of medical personnel needed.
All groups intending to use water activities (May - September) are required to bring their own lifeguards. The number of lifeguards required is determined by the number of water activities that the group would like to access.
Each group is required to bring health forms for and signed by all attendees, including campers, leaders and work crew.
Each group will receive a contract for their booking reservation. This contract must be signed and returned to the property within 30 days after it is received.
Each group must have a Certificate of Insurance sent to Washington Family Ranch by their insurance company. The certificate must name your group as the insured with Young Life named as the additional insured.
After booking, each group will be asked to make a deposit of 5% down or $500, whichever is greater. This deposit is non-refundable and will be due with your signed contract.
We welcome kids of all abilities to our camps. At Washington Family Ranch, all of our main buildings are accessible to strollers or wheelchairs, and we have a handful of cabins that are designed to be accessible (special housing needs may be requested by your child's trip leader).
Walkways around camp are paved. We will also do our best to help every guest participate in activities. We want every kid to have the best week of their life as they come to camp!
